OBJECTIVE
Twinspire partnered with Heirloom LA to offer affordable, healthy cooking classes designed specifically for foster youth aged 18–24. My objective was to create a warm, insight-driven video that promoted the program through authentic storytelling. The video needed to highlight the impact of the classes, the youth’s experiences, and the importance of accessible nutrition.
PROJECT SCOPE
• Filming and directing on location during a live cooking class
• Interviewing participating youth to capture genuine testimonials
• Editing and sound enhancement for clarity and emotional tone
• Crafting a friendly, informative narrative aligned with Twinspire’s mission
• Delivering a polished promotional video for digital platforms
PROCESS
My goal was to build trust with participants and highlight their real voices. After planning a loose interview structure, I captured candid moments throughout the class—hands-on cooking, teamwork, and playful interactions with the chefs.
One challenge arose with audio clarity due to ambient kitchen noise. I resolved this using CapCut’s built-in audio enhancement tools, balancing warmth with intelligibility. The final edit blended interview clips with instructional visuals to create a friendly, inviting tone that met the intended audience where they are: honest, casual, and relatable.
Process Highlights:
• Developed interview questions tailored to youth perspectives
• Directed and filmed within a dynamic, high-activity kitchen environment
• Extracted video stills to highlight key moments of hands-on learning
• Used color correction and pacing to maintain an upbeat, friendly tone
