OBJECTIVE
Trees of LA wanted a short, skit-style Instagram video to build excitement around their guided tree tours offered on CSUN’s campus. The goal was to create a fun, fast-paced piece that felt native to social media—something energetic, comedic, and shareable that could quickly grab attention while highlighting the educational value of the tours.
As the primary creator, I directed, filmed, edited, and produced the final video, including a branded ending-card graphic for the campaign.
PROJECT SCOPE
• Scripted skit-style sequences tailored for Instagram
• On-location filming around CSUN’s campus
• Fast-paced editing and comedic timing
• Color grading, sound design, and pacing refinement
• Collaboration with Trees of LA and IntersectLA stakeholders
• Multiple rounds of feedback and revision cycles
• Creation of final branded end-card graphic for the campaign
PROCESS
The creative direction was rooted in social-first skit humor—quick cuts, exaggerated reactions, and snappy movement. I scouted high-traffic and visually appealing areas of CSUN’s campus to showcase the variety of trees the tours highlight.
Once filming wrapped, the post-production process became iterative. The client provided extensive rounds of feedback, each requiring revisions to pacing, comedic beats, captions, or structure. I maintained efficiency and clarity across each revision cycle, ensuring the final product stayed aligned with the client’s goals while preserving the creative energy of the concept.
In the final stage, I designed a custom ending-card graphic that introduced the tour information with bright, friendly typography and on-brand visuals—built specifically to match Trees of LA’s voice.
Process Highlights:
• Directed high-energy skit acting and movement
• Filmed on-location in multiple campus spots
• Tight, humorous editing aligned with Instagram pacing
• Integrated multiple rounds of client feedback
• Designed a polished end-card graphic to close out the video
